Precinct Leaders, Delegates & Alternates,
Congratulations on a job well done at the senatorial and county conventions!
We have been in discussion with the Ron Paul Campaign State
Coordinator,
Jean McIver, about our plan moving forward to the state convention. Considering
our success in gathering and organizing the delegate results after the
precinct conventions, the campaign has advised us to serve as a data
collection point for state delegates. The greater Houston
area alone actually accounts for about one quarter of all the congressional
districts in Texas and they spread out through the southeast of the
state. The Congressional District is a region we will be learning more
about in our next phase of conventions. Not sure what your Congressional District and Senatorial District look like? You might be surprised at how much area they cover. You can pull up maps
here and
here.
It is important that Precinct Leaders send in the results for the
delegates from their precinct so that a single (email) contact is established
for the precinct. This will also allow us
to forward a copy of the delegate report to the both the Congressional District Coordinator (CDC)
and Senatorial District Coordinator (SDC), important new roles for the
state convention, so they can get in touch with you. If you are not familiar with the term
Precinct Leader (PL) or don't think your precinct ever had one,
consider yourself the PL for now and send in the report.
If you are the
PL but were not elected as delegate or alternate, you should still send
in your results. If you attended a convention of a sparsely populated county that has few precincts and few delegate seats, lies in a single Senatorial and Congressional District and you believe you knew all or most of the Ron Paul delegates there, then you can send in the report for your entire convention instead of just your precinct. In that case, you can replace the word "precinct" with "county" below. The idea is to have a point of contact for each small group of Ron Paul delegates.
Another reason for having every precinct (county) leader send in their delegate
results is that it will allow us to know who qualifies to be a SDC and CDC for the senatorial
and congressional district without one. These important positions can only be filled
by state delegates or alternates in the respective district.
What made the organization of delegate results so successful last time
was that people accurately classified themselves by county, SD and precinct
in the subject line. This time we will also need your
Congressional District
(CD). So please read the new instructions carefully.
Send your email to
ForRonPaul@gmail.com.
In the subject line of the email, please classify your report in the following manner:
County Name / State Senatorial District # / Congressional District # / Precinct #
Example:
Harris / SD13 / CD9 / 0564
You can find your Senatorial District number and Congressional District
number on your voter registration card or possibly online. For example, Harris County has voter registration records online
here. The Congressional District number is the
same as the "U.S. Rep" number. You can also call your county GOP
headquarters to determine your congressional district.
In the body of the email, please provide the following information:
Name:
Phone Number (preferably mobile):
Were you elected as a delegate or an alternate?:
(Note the next four questions refer to any state delegate elected from your precinct. They could have been elected in a precinct caucus, a multi-precinct caucus, as at-large delegates, etc. By "from your precinct", we mean people that live in the same in the precinct as you. This is regardless of whether you had a precinct caucus at your convnetion.)
How many total delegates from your precinct were elected at your County/Senatorial Convention?:
How many Ron Paul delegates from your precinct were elected at your County/Senatorial Convention?:
How many total alternates from your precinct were elected at your County/Senatorial Convention?:
How many Ron Paul alternates from your precinct were elected at your County/Senatorial Convention?:
Are there any Ron Paul delegates or alternates that are outside your precinct that we might not know about? These might be delegates you discovered in a multi-precinct caucus (if you had one) or just delegates that you believe are not connected to the Ron Paul delegate organization. If so, will you give us their names and email addresses?
Will you attend the June 12-14, 2008 State Convention in Houston?: (Yes / No):
After providing us with this important data, let us know of any other
information you want us to know concerning the election of your
precinct delegates.
Congratulations to everyone who was elected!
